As an Professional Registered Nurse I have a contract with society that is found on an inherent trust based on a nursing tradition of patient advocacy and clincial expertise. This relationship is historically appreciated within the clinical scope of practice and as a trusted community member. That trust has encouraged me to step out of my traditional role and seek to influence healthcare systems, organizations, institutions and all providers to be engaged in the ongoing process of increasing patient safety. Through services and processes that encourage accountability, assist in recognizing justice and preserving our quality healthcare resources through the spectrum of services provided by Southern Cross.
